Romantic Rome
Magic hotel in the heart of Rome. So beautiful, many art pieces inside. Lovely terrace (but you have to book). Very nice staff.
No swimming pool (we knew that before, but on the summer in Rome it would be nice…)

Beautiful place but had some issues
The hotel is beautiful and the room was nice. Room had a nice cozy bed that could be adjusted, 2-shower, etc. Location was excellent. Rooftop terrace.
Unfortunately it was facing the street and super noisy. I don’t mind the restaurant noise as that is to be expected but The noise was mainly the staff talking outside or when the laundry came and the staff were talking with each other. I felt they had no consideration. Further, we went for drinks on the rooftop terrace and took 25 min to get 3 drinks. Our initial waitress waved us off and finally we could get water while still waiting for the drinks. When we got the bill, instead of the waitress speaking to me, the one staying at the hotel and placing the bill on my room, she asked my friends if they spoke Italian and spoke to them. She couldn’t speak English well. We found the whole experience rude.

What was the highlight of Bio Hotel Raphael Roma
Interesting stay at a potentially very good hotel in a great location that needs some improvements
The best thing about the hotel is its location close to the Piazza Navona. The building is a not always successful combination of the old and the new, an ancient building with both modern and ancient decorative art. We did have some issues during our stay, but I must commend the Front Office Manager, Senor Simone Sanna, who was most helpful in improving our situation and responding to our issues. To compensate us for our problem, the hotel manager, a lady whose name I did not record, reduced our bill by 20% per day at checkout and paid our taxi fare to the station when we departed. So, although we has some issues, the management responded very quickly and effectively. The breakfast also has some issues, but the presence of a live harpist every day at breakfast was lovely.
The first room we had was not well designed; inconvenient light and power arrangements, no double glazing, so rather noisy, and overcrowded with unnecessary and inconvenient furniture. Due to the lack of a night light and poor access to the light switches, I collided with a heavy, black, glass-topped low circular table during the night, and stumbled into the unpadded wooden bench at the end of the bed, bruising both of my shins. A less agile and un-steadier elderly person could have hurt themselves very severely. I complained to the manager the next morning and he offered to remove the offending table. About half an hour later, he offered us an alternate room which was much better, quieter and roomier. We accepted the offer and the hotel staff moved our belongings with the minimum of fuss. We did not particularly like the all vegetarian offerings, they were a bit uninspired. This was an innovation as when we last stayed at the hotel, at least ten years earlier, it was not vegetarian. My other concerns were about some slackness in the security. As the hotel is situated right next door to the Piazza Navona, it has very busy foot traffic past it's main door all day and all evening. There is a doorman and front desk staff on duty, but twice when we returned to the hotel in the evening, the main front door was open and unmanned, and there was no one present at the front desk. I discussed this with Sen. Sanna, who said that the staff should have been there but may have been briefly away attending to other duties. This is fair enough, but I do believe that further attention is needed to the security issues. If no doorman is present, then the girl on the front desk, it was always a young woman, is potentially exposed as are the guests.

Just the location & staffs
Bed type is horrible as they have pasted two single beds and name it king bed which is very uncomfortable Rooms are so noisy
